Homeworks are still at Artisan...

...but only until Saturday 30th October!

You've got just over a week to get to Artisan Gallery at 80 Harlesden Road, where you'll find quirky gifts, children's clothing, vintage homewares, framed prints and cards, knitting kits and much, much more.

Lou Rota's plates, mugs and stickers, Handworks block printed cotton handkerchiefs and a tantalising glimpse of a Mrs Booth card...

Marjorie the mannequin sporting a striped Smith and Coates jumper and a Handworks ruffle skirt as she strolls through the fragrant jasmine on her way to admire the Janey Whitehorn marbled lampshade in the window.

Beautiful ceramics made by Sam Frankel, vintage glass bottles from Homespun and Vintage, more jasmine leaves and framed family tree prints. Really, what else do you need?

Smith and Coates children's tops and dresses made from recycled wool mixing and matching perfectly with Handwork's beautiful block printed cotton dresses, skirts, dressing gowns and pyjamas.

And in case your walls or your table are looking a little bare, now's your chance to stock up on Lou Rota plates and Nancy Batty collages. Or even the vintage shelf - it's for sale from Homespun and Vintage.

Smith and Coates at Eco Age

Staying with the pop up theme, Smith and Coates did a three day event last weekend at Livia Firth's beautiful shop in Chiswick, Eco Age. A passionate campaigner for fair trade and sustainability in all things, Livia Firth has put together a fantastic collection of fashion and homewares that are stylish as well as ethical. I had to curb my shopping instinct and keep reminding myself that I was there to sell, not buy. To read all about it and see lots more photos, have a look at Laura Bailey's blog on Vogue.

Homeworks at Artisan

Come and see us at Artisan, where we are setting up shop from the
6th - 30th October.

Artisan is a studio/gallery owned by Naomi Harrison which she uses for herself, as a space to showcase local artists and work she considers offers something different.

In collaboration with Naomi, Homeworks has created a pop-up shop showcasing designer makers Fiona Bailey, Nancy Batty, Mrs Booth, Handworks, Homespun and Vintage, Lou Rota, Smith and Coates and Janey Whitehorn.

Join us for a drink on one of the Thursday late night openings (7, 14, 21 October) 6-9pm, or swing by on a Saturday (10, 17, 24 October) 11-5pm to say hello and have some tea & cake.

Naomi will also be there during the week from Tuesday-Friday 11-5pm.

Hope to see you there!

Artisan80

Some of the local Willesden talent has got together to have an exhibition at Artisan80, a new gallery on Harlesden Road, NW10. Exhibits include jewellery design, textile art, paintings, glass and typography.
Homeworks member, Fiona Bailey Designs, has her textile jewellery there along with some new button canvases.

Artisan80 has been open since the beginning of the year and has already played a great part in bringing the community together. Homeworks will hopefully be exhibiting/selling their wares at the gallery in October 2010, leading up the the Christmas period.

Watch this space for more news.
